The gift of health! When you are living a healthier life its not only a gift for you but a gift for your loved ones. Life is busy, 2020 has not been the best year but getting healthy doesn’t have to be an all or nothing approach.
How to get started? What makes you healthy? Do I have to give up all my favorite things forever? ♀️
Apps, reminders, books, personal trainers, or health coaching. How should you pick? Any and all these approaches are ways to get started, the key is to find what works for you.
Noom is an app that finds the relationship between your habits and chronic illnesses. According to the CDC only 6.3% of Americans take time to look at the relationship to habits vs chronic illness. According to the Cleveland Clinic, about 80% of chronic diseases are driven by lifestyle.
Both the Noom app and a health coach offer accountability.
Ask yourself. 1-how am I most motivated? 2-Do I respond better to face to face? 3-What do I need? Most health coaches have a specialty. (Mine are women balancing, hormones, career and family.)
Noom is a app that provides a structured program and may not always be able to take into consideration feelings, emotions or empathy.
I develop individualized programs that are unique for each of my clients taking into consideration behaviors, schedules and lifestyles. One client may work 80+ hours or another could be a stay-at-home Mom. Both have the same weight loss goal but need a different plan to tackle the problem. There is more to weight loss than just the number. Your thoughts play a big part in how effective a program can be. Emotional eating, traumas, life transitions all play apart of your health. Working together we can find what works for you.
There is no magic pill and there is not a one stop shop. I offer on-line and face-to face session with constant engagement and encouragement.
Find what works for you! Jenny Craig, Weight-watchers, nutria-system. What have you tried? What did you like about it? Did you get the results you wanted? Let me know your thoughts!
Here’s to your health.
